What is linearity?

Linearity is a study of constructing a fixed, yet flexible grid made up of generated objects. The grid is never seen directly, hidden in plain sight, only taking form through the objects it holds. The filling patterns, lines and shapes are all generated by several algorithms, linking points together to draw lines with an organic natural feel to them, that create the forms.

Colour plays a strong role in this piece, the soft muted canvas backdrop gives the base for the strong contrasting & bold coloured line strokes on top that complete the piece.

The grid is not static, but a breathing living structure. It softly moves; expanding and contracting yet always remains contained to the canvas. Using the dimension of time, I explored the possibilities of what else this grid is and could be.
